Profitec MOVE 2.0: even more precise espresso control
The Profitec MOVE was conceived from the beginning as a compact dual boiler machine for users who want a high level of control but without a complicated daily workflow. Programmable extraction, fast heating, and separate boilers for coffee and steam already set it apart as one of the most interesting machines in its class.
With the new Profitec MOVE 2.0, the basic concept remains the same, but the machine receives several very significant improvements: a new generation of software, Bluetooth connectivity with an app and scales, and the Brew by Weight function.
The result is a MOVE that looks and feels familiar, but offers significantly more possibilities for control and repeatability of extraction.

Brew by Weight: extraction no longer has to depend solely on time
Until now, the MOVE allowed programming extraction by time: you define the duration, press the button, and the machine automatically finishes extraction after the set number of seconds.
MOVE 2.0 introduces a second approach — Brew by Weight.
When you connect a compatible Bluetooth scale, the machine can track the amount of espresso actually ending up in the cup and automatically stop extraction when it reaches the set mass.
Why is this important?
Let's say you use the recipe 18 g coffee → 36 g espresso. Changes in grind size, coffee age, dose, or distribution can change the flow. If the machine stops extraction solely after 28 seconds, the amount in the cup may not be the same every time.
With the Brew by Weight system, the goal is no longer just time but the actual result — for example, 36 g in the cup.
For the home barista, this means greater repeatability without sacrificing the ability to experiment.

Make Coffee Yours app
MOVE 2.0 is also the first Profitec machine with such complete app integration.
Through the Make Coffee Yours App, it's possible to adjust parameters available on the machine itself, as well as monitor extraction in real-time. In combination with a Bluetooth scale, you can observe how changes in grind size, dose, or recipe affect the shot and then more precisely adjust the espresso according to the coffee you are currently using.
It's important that Profitec hasn't moved the basic functions of the machine to the phone. MOVE 2.0 can still be used normally directly via its controls and OLED display — the app is an additional layer of control, not a prerequisite for use.

Which Bluetooth scales work with MOVE 2.0?
Profitec currently lists compatibility with the following scales:
- Acaia — all models
- Decent Scale
- DiFluid Microbalance
- Eureka Precisa
- Felicita
- Goat Story Gina
- Hiroia Jimmy
- Skale II
- Varia AKU models with Bluetooth and updated firmware
- Solo Barista
- Ikape
- Brewista X
For Brew Society, the Eureka Precisa is particularly interesting, as MOVE 2.0 can thus be offered as a fully integrated system with a Bluetooth scale, without the need to switch to another ecosystem.
Heating in approximately 7 minutes
One of the most practically important improvements is an even shorter heating time.
The original MOVE was already among the faster dual boiler machines, but MOVE 2.0 uses an optimized boiler volume and, according to Profitec, reaches operating temperature in approximately 7 minutes.
At the same time, it remains a true dual boiler: espresso can be prepared while the steam boiler is ready for texturing milk.
The machine has also become slightly lower and more compact. The new dimensions are 265 × 430 × 355 mm without portafilter, or 265 × 515 × 355 mm with the portafilter attached.
Easier maintenance
MOVE 2.0 doesn't just use the app for extraction.
The machine allows setting water hardness and filter replacement intervals, as well as reminders for regular cleaning and maintenance. There is also an automatic cleaning program for the brew group.
A water filter comes with the machine, and the 2.8-liter reservoir has an integrated filter adapter.

What remains the same?
Profitec did not try to turn MOVE 2.0 into a completely different machine. Quite the opposite — the features that made MOVE interesting in the first place have been retained:
dual boiler system, ability to switch off the steam boiler, PID temperature control, programmable pre-infusion, OLED display, programmable extraction buttons, silent vibration pump system, Barista Light, automatic brew group cleaning, and wooden American walnut handles.
The brew boiler is brass with a volume of 0.4 l, while the steam/hot-water boiler is made of stainless steel with a volume of 0.75 l. The European version has a power of 2,200 W, and the machine weighs 18.7 kg.
MOVE 2.0 is not just "MOVE with an app"
That is perhaps the most important difference.
Bluetooth and an app in themselves are not a reason to buy an espresso machine. What's more interesting about MOVE 2.0 is how Profitec uses them.
Brew by Weight directly solves one of the problems of time-programmed extraction: the time can be the same, but the amount of espresso in the cup can be different.
MOVE 2.0 therefore allows a choice between two workflows. You can use the machine simply — as a classic programmable dual boiler — or add a compatible scale, monitor extraction in the app, and work with a specific brew ratio goal.
For someone who wants a reliable daily machine, it's additional automation. For a home barista who likes to change coffees and recipes, it's an additional control tool.
Available in black and yellow versions
The new Profitec MOVE 2.0 is produced in black and yellow variants.
Brew Society recommendation
If you want to use the Brew by Weight function, the Eureka Precisa Bluetooth is an officially supported scale and a natural addition to the MOVE 2.0 system. For a complete espresso setup, we can also combine MOVE 2.0 with the Profitec TWIST SD54 single-dose grinder.
